Dead Language
Gibb Slife and Fitzroy Gallery

Dead Language, a fictional newspaper by Gibb Slife, was produced in conjunction with a solo exhibition of the artist's work at New York's Fitzroy Gallery, 2011. With an irrational mannerism, Slife splices existing stories and images with deeply cynical headlines that deconstruct and reconstruct the absurd landscape of mass media. In keeping with his exhibition work, this newspaper acts as printed supplement to Slife's ongoing examination of the intersections of truth, propaganda, trend and culture in a hyper-world gone awry.
